Last Days of School - Ever!!

by admin on November 29, 2008

The end of school was a little weird, cause there was the last full day of classes, then a week of shutdown with tests, a couple of days when were just told not to come and then half a day.  It was a bit weird, noone seemed quite sure when we really finished.

But whatever.  I’m putting up photos.

The wonderful Modern History class. [click to continue...]

Hello

So once again it is the end of term and I’m on the computer for lack of anything better to do. These posts suck, but they are kind of inevitable.

Although today hasn’t been too bad. English I just talked to people, Maths was the biggest bludge ever and Modern History I worked on my assignment, just because it’s fun. Which is really sad, but whatever.

Our assignment is about the war on terror and whether it’s justified. It’s going to be really good next term. Our class has a tendency to argue over everything so it will be kind of funny.

It’s a year exactly today since I went to Japan for the three month stay and two years and one day since the two week. It’s sad. I really miss it.

Oh yeah, and I’m going on the Canberra trip next year. Can’t wait, it’s almost all of my modern history class. We go to the zoo and the Parliament Houses and heaps of other stuff. We’re there for ANZAC day too, which will be really good.

I can’t wait, it’s going to be awesome.

I’m working a fair bit these holidays, which kind of sucks.

Chicken gets a bit old.

But it is still kind of fun, cause everyone who works there is a nutcase to some degree, so it makes it interesting.

And then there’s always the bit at the end where whatever junior is on ends up lying upside down in the cabinet, wiping the windows.

People walk by and give you the weirdest looks
.
It’s worth doing just to see that.

I really can’t wait for the holidays though.

It’s 12.38 at the moment and we finish at 3.05, so we have….hang on, thinking…two hours and twenty seven minutes until the holidays!!!!!!

God, I hope that’s right.
Hee hee.

Last Day of School

by admin on June 23, 2006

Today is the last day of the school term and, as always, I’m on the computer. This is my Science lesson and we’re in the library. We have been watching a movie about girls changing into boys and vice- verca, but now we’re on the computers.

I handed in my English assignment today, which is good. I still can’t believe I managed to finish it. All twenty pages. Yay! But our next term’s English teacher has already given us Dracula to read over the holidays.

Not doing much over the holidays. I’d like to see The da Vinci Code, but I don’t reckon that’ll happen…

It’s been raining for about a week now, which sucks. I have been freezing for about that long too. I got completely soaked this morning running twenty metres. It was raining really hard, but still. It was only twenty metres.

Hopefully hockey won’t be cancelled tonight. But I don’t know…

I’m having sushi for lunch. Just a random piece of information noone really needed to know thrown in there. It was scary trying to order it though. There was a very enthusiastic game of soccer going on in the tuckshop, so you had to keep ducking as the ball went flying past your head.

Just found out: 13 weeks till I go to Japan. Yesturday of next term. (Second last day.)

Yay.

Okay, I’m going now.

Bye.

Hi,

In honour of the last two weeks of the school year when only the year eight’s and nine’s are left at my school, and the teachers divide your grades turnout of about sixty students out of a possible hundred and fifty into two groups, stick you into a computer room and pretend to supervise you, I have complied the following list:

Things to do in class when you’re so bored you start to write letters to imaginary people.

1. Actually write letters to imaginary people.
2. Find as many internet IQ tests as you can and challenge your friends.
3. Colour a bit of paper, shred the ends, wind it around your pen, sticky tape it in place and decorate. Have a fashion parade and/or beauty pagent with your friends and their pen friends.
4. Have a Mr. Squiggle, noughts and crosses, hangman and SOS tournament with as many people as you can rope in.
5. Ask your teacher if you can write on the white/black board.
6. Write ‘a is for apple, b is for banana etc…’ with your bad hand.
7. List as many song lyrics as you can think of.
8. Arm/thumb wrestle
9. Check your email.
10. Plan all the fabulous things you’ll do once you’re on holidays, for six glorious weeks.

The only ones I actually did was the noughts and crosses, hangman, arm wrestles, check my email and plan my holidays.

But whatever. I’m on holidays now, so that’s all that matters. So far all I’ve done is get totally waterlogged and hang out at my friends place. Mind you, I have been cleaning my room, so that makes me feel a bit like I’m actually getting something done. It really needed a good clean though, because I haven’t dusted for about four months and all my junk was starting to get piled up on my desk. I really hope Mum doesn’t read this.

It’s been the nicest day on the Gold Coast. I’m actually starting to believe the saying thing: beautiful one day, perfect the next. Although yesterday was nicer than today, on account on the whole clouds pouring in in the afternoon. Dad and I drove past the beach earlier, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. So about an hour ago, we went for a swim.

I’m going to go jump in the pool, so bye.

What to do…

by admin on December 7, 2005

Hi,

I’m at school (still).

And tomorrow. But yesturday I spent most of the day in my friends ridiculously fridge- like lounge room, so I really can’t complain. Besides, this computer room is air- con d too.

So. Right now, I would so love to go down to the beach, with one of those frozen cokes from Macca’s and give myself a brain freeze. Stupid, I know, but it’s so hot! Serve me right for living on the Gold Coast.

And even though I’m whinging about school practically every single entry, it’s really not that bad. On Monday, we played Splatball, the Elanora High version of the game on that movie Dodgeball- the only difference being that we have more people on a side-, and table tennis made paper (yes, you did read that right) and watched people from our grade (9) perform their Performing Arts pieces.

Today I have constructed a tower out of paddlepop sticks and sticky tape and played a grammer game I actually kind of liked. I can’t believe I just admitted that, but there you go.

We haven’t put up our Christmas tree yet, but I want to do it soon. That reminds me, what is up with the whole, Santa is banned, call your Chrissie tree a holiday tree thing. What are these people thinking???

Why can’t they just celebrate their holidays and let us celebrate ours? Besides, Santa is nice, he brings you presents. He is not going to harm your child by patting them on their head.

Sorry, that was a little bit of a speel.

Anyway, so. There is this big craze sweeping my school- scoobie laces. Or at least I think that’s what everyones been calling them.

They’re these plastic lace things you wind around itself- sorta hard to explain. It reminds me a bit of finger knitting. I just stated one this moring, grren and white, and they’re really fun. I totally suck, but they’re fun to do, and it’s not like anyone has anything better to do.

Okay, now I’m going.

Ra ha ha…

by admin on November 25, 2005

Hello

How convenient. 40 minutes in business technology to ‘occupy ourselves’. Hey, it beats the speed and accuracy tests we were doing.
Useless trivia: in the last half hour my typing speed’s gone from 26.2 to 29.6. Yay.

On the weekend we’re going away, to Midginbill Hill. It’s in New South Wales near a town called Uki. You’ve gotta be careful when you go past Uki though, coz if you blink you might miss it. It’s cute though. I think last time we went past it, there was a car in a tree. How someone managed that I’ll never know.

Midginbill Hill is where I had my year seven camp. It was really fun. We went horse riding up big scary hills and made rafts that fall apart. Some of my friends still have fond memories of their raft, the S.S. Dilapidated.

We did archery, too, that was really fun, cause we did it in groups of six, which was good because you get heaps of goes.

About a year after school camp, we went back there with a big group of friends. I have to say it was way more fun, cause we were there with my best friends, and we spent the whole time in the pool and on the suspension bridge we found, both of which were out of bounds on camp. Also fun was sitting in the back of one of the dad’s utes with all the girls and driving all over the dirt road and down hills really fast. Okay, it probably wasn’t all that fast, but it felt it.

I’m feeling really nauseous right now, because in Home Ec., which I had last period, we had our chocolate making day, so we all tried one another’s food, as we always do. Bad idea. I should have put my rum-less rum balls in the fridge and refused anything that was offered to me. I’m an idiot. A very sick feeling idiot.

But I did scrape an A for my rum-less rum balls, though, so I must have done something at least resembling something intelligent at some point. Although that smart- resembling thing mustn’t have been getting half a rum-less rum ball stuck to the front of my shirt. I was totally wearing an apron though, so I have no idea how that happened.

I have Japanese next, which is good. We’ll just work on our booklets and bludge the rest of the lesson. Japanese is good because all my friends are in there. Like, literally all my friends. Well, almost anyway.
Okay, I should go,
Bye

PS I’m gonna have to post this later, cause I can’t remember my user name and password to get into blogger. But I will post it. Soon. If I remember.
