Passed through Olary on our way to Broken Hill. Total ghost town. Not a soul lived there. It was pretty awesome.
Broken Hill was good fun. Maree and David White left and Paul and his mum Annette joined us for the night. The Summers family, including the adorable Tim and Holly also joined up with us there.
The Full Team (minus the A Team)
The West Darling Hotel donated all our accomodation, which was fantastic. It was a really great old hotel - and especially would have been about twenty years ago. It’s a bit (ok, fairly) rundown and not everything works, but it’s still brilliant. It has real character, I loved it.
We did the groceries - very exciting. We got evacuated, then let back in about half an hour later.
It was a massive job getting everything out of the car and into the flat, then sorting it all and repacking it in the morning, but it was good to organise everything. Had dinner that night at the hotel. It was good, cause it was Jack’s birthday and we got a big room all to ourselves. (Actually the breakfast room but never mind that.) Mum, Jo and I decorated it up like a little kids party with Clifford (the big red dog) streamers and party hats and blowers. It was fun. He got some pretty awesome prezzies too.
Cycling wise, Jack and Dad are still going really well.
They’ve gotten a fair way ahead, which is fantastic. Dad’s bike got screwed up (the crank arm literally fell off), so that was at the bike shop, although the part wouldn’t be delivered until Monday (it Sunday), but it’s not as bad as it could have been cause he can ride the spare bike, it just means Harry can’t ride again until we get it back.
Camped the night at Spring Hills Rest Area behind the playground. Not a bad little spot actually.
