Our second day with Perth to Paradise!!
It was so good to get off that bus on Monday night and see everyone - hadn’t seen Em or Ange in ages, so that was good.
Arrived just in time for dessert - score! Although Haz and I had eaten too much junk food to want it. Sob.
Stayed the night at the Ceduna Scout Hall - very swish. But definately more so than the next night (which was last night), when we stayed in a gravel pit in Minnipa. I’m still trying to get my head around a few things, most notably
- the “bush toilet” concept.
- Minnipa is a town of about five people - and even that’s bigger than some of the others.
- the camp mat is comfortable. I’m really surprised, I admit.
So, basically what happens each day is this:
Dad and Jack leave at about 7 o’clock in the morning and everybody else stays back, packs up the camper trailer and everything. We try to stop and meet them for more drinks etc. every twenty or so kilometres, sometimes, we’ll just pass them whatever they need out the window as we drive past. They also have two, sometimes three longer breaks for morning tea and lunch. Then we drive a bit further, alternately passing stuff out the window and stopping. It’s good fun.
It’s a bit scary starting at this point of the trip, since there’s a lot of little things which Mum, Em, Ange and Spud have developed into a finely tuned routine. I think we have alot to live up to.
They call themselves the A Team. Does that make us the B Team?
