Hello
So, I haven’t written anything in ages. So sue me.
Okay, okay, I’m sorry, but it has to be done. The Eurovision Song Contest were on last week. Yes, I am ashamed to admit it, but, as interesting as I’m sure Todd and Brant’s interview was, I watched the Eurovision Song Contest instead. Sad, I know. But now you know.
High Points of the Eurovision Song Contest:
- Germany’s entry. It was a really cool country song. My dad said the singer was an Aussie (what does that say about Aussies, eh? We beat all of Germany.)
- The English commentator. Hilarious. He’d only talk every now and then, but it was really funny. Favourite comments include: “this next song is a lot more fun to sing than it is to listen to” and … okay, memory failure.
Low Points of the Eurovision Song Contest:
- I have a question. Remember the Ketchup Song? (My class had to do that stupid dance that goes with it in front of the entire grade in year seven. I’m still seeing my therapist about that.) Was it Las Ketchup that sang it? I’m almost positive it was. Well, guess what group was Spain’s entry? Yay!! The return of the Sauce Girls! Honestly though, the song wasn’t actually that bad. I was just suffering really traumatic flashblacks. And laughing really hard, cause they all looked the same height, but they were all in platform stilettos, except for one who was in flat shoes.
Points that cracked me up in the Eurovision Song Contest:
- The song? ‘We are the Winners’. The chorus? ‘We are the winners…of Eurovision. We are, we are.) Repeat x10) The verses? ‘Vote for the winners…of Eurovision.’ (Repeat x10) Funny thing? They didn’t win.
- The Greek host wore a metallic silver suit. No, I am not joking.
Reading back through that, there’s not much good stuff in there. So: I really liked the UK’s one. I had to dance while lying on the floor. Please, for your own safety, DO NOT TRY THAT AT HOME. There was also another one in there (a non- English- speaking country – in Eastern Europe maybe?) and the guy had a fantastic voice. I liked it.
Winners:Finland. The only one I didn’t actually like. A bunch of people dressed up in monster costumes which resembled the Orc’s from the Lord of the Rings movies, screaming out this really heavy rock song. Not my kind of thing. But they kicked everyone else’s butts, so their monster thing worked for them. I’m gonna try and look up a picture.
I’m so watching it again next year.
Bye.
